Fun Lunch

Payment for orders can be done with cash or check (print off order form here and return to school in an enveloped marked “KBC PTO Fun Lunch”).  Or, you have the option to pay online with a credit card right here at the KBC PTO Web Store!  If you pay online with a credit card, you do not need to send the paper order form in.  This year fun lunch orders will only be collected twice.  

Orders can be placed beginning January 1st.  All orders are due by January 17th.  (IF YOU ARE USING A PAPER FORM, PLEASE RETURN YOUR COMPLETED ORDER FORMS TO SCHOOL BY FRIDAY, January 17, 2020  (ATTENTION: KBC-PTO – FUN LUNCH)

Sign Up GeniusSome guidelines for Fun Lunch Volunteers:

-Sign in and the front office and get a volunteer lanyard.  You will need to have your license scanned the first time and always bring your keys.
-Please be on time for your shift.  The time we have to pack lunches and serve students is very short.  Thank you for helping as much as you can during this time.
-Check in with the Fun Lunch chairs.  They will assign a duty based on the type of lunch being served that day.
-Please place all purses and coats in the cabinets underneath the counters.  The counters will get full of lunch containers and we don’t want to get your goods messy!
-Please do not use the microwave.  It is for staff use only.
– After lunch and milk is served, you may walk around and help students open milk cartons, etc. Please take this time to give your kiddo a squeeze. They will be so happy to see you!     
-Please keep in mind that you are a role model for our students.  It is all of our responsibility in the school to treat each other, leaders, and all the students with honesty, fairness and kindness.  This shows respect and is very important to making all feel valued.

*If your child receives milk, but does not get fun lunch, you must provide a drink, or bring in $.40 to buy a milk.  Drinks are provided with the purchase of fun lunch for that day.

Wednesday February 5Potbelly sandwich (turkey breast, pizza or smoked ham), chips, dessert & juice box*

Wednesday February 19 – Paisanos cheese pizza slice, dessert & juice box*

Wednesday March 4 – Ambrogis chicken tenders, chips, dessert & juice box*

Wednesday March 18 – Reams “National Grand Champion” hot dog, chips, dessert & juice box*

Wednesday April 8 – Jersey Mikes sub sandwich, (turkey, ham or salami), chips, dessert & juice box*

Wednesday April 22 – Burger King, (6-pc chicken nugget, plain cheeseburger, plain hamburger), chips, dessert, & juice box*

Wednesday May 13—McAlister’s Deli, Macaroni and Cheese, chips, dessert & juice box*

*effective January 2020 Fun Lunch includes a juice box not milk. If you have pre-paid milk for the semester/year your student will still be able to collect it at lunch.

Fun Lunch FAQ’s:

Q: Why do you not accept late orders?

A: We do not accept orders after the due date because we usually shop for the side items and desserts 1-2 weeks before the lunch actually takes place. In most cases, we have to order the quantity we need. We do give 2 weeks to turn in order forms.

Q: What do I do if my child is absent?

A: You can pick the lunch up at school between the hours of 11AM-1PM. Please call the office to make arrangements. We do not give refunds or credits because the child has already been included in the quantity bought. We cannot transfer the lunch to another child due to allergy and diet restrictions.

Q: What if I over or under pay?

A: If you over pay we do not give refunds. If you are short, a committee member will contact you and ask that you have your child bring in the amount to make up the difference.

Q: Is there a healthier choice for a side or dessert item?

A: There are many alternatives but budget restrictions don’t allow us to offer a healthier option. Most prepackaged vegetables and fruits would cause us to increase prices. In addition, the lunch is supposed to be something fun for the kids.

Q: What can I do if we miss the order deadline?

A: Please feel free to bring in a special lunch for your child on the day of fun lunch. Please sign-up for PTO emails and join the KBC PTO closed group on Facebook.  Order forms and reminders will be publicized through both of these.

Q: Why is milk not included for every child on fun lunch days?

A: The fun lunch payment includes milk with the meal. The milk payment at the beginning of the semester does not include fun lunch days. Any of the children can receive milk who didn’t order fun lunch, they can pay for milk on fun lunch days.

Q: Why does fun lunch have to be paid in advance or can we pay on the fun lunch day?

A: The committee members need to prepare for each individual fun lunch. We have to order the quantity a week before from the restaurant providing the meal and we also need to have a side item and dessert ordered, picked-up and available the day of fun lunch. It would not be doable to have these lunches bought on the day of fun lunch.
