Fun Lunch

Payment for orders can be made on the webstore, which can be found here. There will no longer be any paper order forms, or checks accepted as payment.  Fun lunch orders will only be collected twice a year.  All fun lunch orders are due by August 27th.  SORRY, ABSOLUTELY NO LATE ORDERS CAN BE ACCEPTED.

Fun lunch options for quarantined families:  Your child’s lunch will be placed in a cooler outside the main entrance, for pick up only during your child’s lunch period.  NO REFUNDS AVAILABLE.

Sign Up GeniusSome guidelines for Fun Lunch Volunteers:

-Due to COVID restrictions only two parent volunteers will be allowed at each fun lunch, for the whole day.
-If you volunteer for fun lunch,  you are committing to stay for the entire time. You would be committing to helping from 10:35-1:30.  If you can’t attend the whole time, please don’t sign up.
-Due to the limited amount of volunteers this year, you can only sign up for one day for the WHOLE YEAR.
-Sign in and the front office and get a volunteer lanyard.  You will need to have your license scanned the first time and always bring your keys.
-Please be on time for your shift.  The time we have to pack lunches and serve students is very short.  Thank you for helping as much as you can during this time.
-Check in with the Fun Lunch chairs.  They will assign a duty based on the type of lunch being served that day.
-Please place all purses and coats in the cabinets underneath the counters.  The counters will get full of lunch containers and we don’t want to get your goods messy!
-Please do not use the microwave.  It is for staff use only.
– After lunch and milk is served, you may walk around and help students open milk cartons, etc. Please take this time to give your kiddo a squeeze. They will be so happy to see you!     
-Please keep in mind that you are a role model for our students.  It is all of our responsibility in the school to treat each other, leaders, and all the students with honesty, fairness and kindness.  This shows respect and is very important to making all feel valued.

*effective January 2020 Fun Lunch includes a juice box not milk. If you have pre-paid milk for the semester/year your student will still be able to collect it at lunch.

Fun Lunch FAQ’s:

Q: Why do you not accept late orders?

A: We do not accept orders after the due date because we usually shop for the side items and desserts 1-2 weeks before the lunch actually takes place. In most cases, we have to order the quantity we need. We do give 2 weeks to turn in order forms.

Q: What do I do if my child is absent?

A: You can pick the lunch up outside the school’s main doors in a fun lunch cooler. Please come during your child’s lunch period.  We do not give refunds or credits because the child has already been included in the quantity bought. We cannot transfer the lunch to another child due to allergy and diet restrictions.

Q: Is there a healthier choice for a side or dessert item?

A: There are many alternatives but budget restrictions don’t allow us to offer a healthier option. Most prepackaged vegetables and fruits would cause us to increase prices. In addition, the lunch is supposed to be something fun for the kids.

Q: What can I do if we miss the order deadline?

A: Please feel free to bring in a special lunch for your child on the day of fun lunch. Please sign-up for PTO emails and join the KBC PTO closed group on Facebook.  Order forms and reminders will be publicized through both of these.

Q: Why does fun lunch have to be paid in advance or can we pay on the fun lunch day?

A: The committee members need to prepare for each individual fun lunch. We have to order the quantity a week before from the restaurant providing the meal and we also need to have a side item and dessert ordered, picked-up and available the day of fun lunch. It would not be doable to have these lunches bought on the day of fun lunch.
