After School Enrichment Coming in February! Instructors and Helpers Needed!
Do you have a hobby or talent you can share with our students? Do you want your kids to have something fun to do after school while it is too cold to play outside? Sign up to instruct or volunteer during After School Enrichment!
Classes will be held February 1, 8, 22, and 29 from 3:30-4:30. The topic or theme of your class is your choice. Some ideas are sports, crafts, art, science, games, cooking, community outreach – it’s up to you! You will be reimbursed for your supplies needed to teach the class.
Bonus for you! If you sign up to instruct or assist in a room, you get priority sign up for your child!

WATCH D.O.G.S.®, (Dads Of Great Students) is an innovative father involvement, educational initiative of the National Center For Fathering. It began in 1998 in a single school in Springdale, Arkansas and has since grown into a nationally recognized program that has brought hundreds of thousands of fathers and father figures into our nation’s classrooms and hallways.
As a K-12 program, it invites fathers, grandfathers, uncles, or other male figures to volunteer one day at Kaneland Blackberry Creek Elementary School. Watch DOG volunteers perform a variety of tasks during their volunteer day, including monitoring the school entrance, assisting with unloading and loading of buses and cars, monitoring the lunch room, or helping in the classroom with a teacher’s guidance by working with small groups of students on homework, flashcards, or spelling. This is your chance to show off your creative side! Submit a design for the 2017-2018 yearbook cover contest!
Your artwork must:
● Include the school name: Blackberry Creek Elementary
● Include the school year: 2017-2018
● Be in portrait or vertical format
● Have correct spelling
● Be neat (Be on an 8X10 PLAIN sheet of paper (NO line paper or notebook paper)
● Be original
● Be created in color – crayons, colored pencils, or markers ONLY NO glued/taped attachments
● Be hand drawn
● Be outlined in thin black marker for a more dramatic effect
● Have name and teacher written in pencil on the backside
Anything with inappropriate material, or those that do not follow the guidelines listed, will be automatically removed from contest! The decision will be made at the discretion of the Yearbook editor!

Back by popular demand, these delicious frozen pastries will be here just in time for Easter and your spring festivities! To pair with Butter Braid, PTO is offering coffee from a local Batavia company, PapaNicholas. Your participation in fundraisers helps PTO pay for things like field trips, assemblies, After School Enrichment, books, technology and so much more for your students at school.
*Please pick up your order on Tuesday, March 15th between 3:30-5:00 in the multipurpose room. If you need to arrange an alternate pick up time, please email Kathy Spence at firstname.lastname@example.org before March 15th.
