Blackberry Creek Elementary School’s Pop Open a Good Book Read-A-Thon

Blackberry Creek PTO is proud to announce our first Read-A-Thon Fundraiser!

We want all of our students to develop a love of reading for pleasure, for knowledge, and for adventure. This NEW fundraiser will not only support our school but also supports each student’s personal reading development goal.

How It Works:
Every day beginning Friday, February 25 through Sunday, March 13 students will earn money by reading books. Students will receive pledges from family and friends to support their efforts.

Why participate in this important FUNdraiser?
1. If we hit our goal, there will be a free Block Party for all Blackberry families on Saturday, May 7th!        2. You can earn prizes, for yourself, your class and your teacher!!  (Click here to see all the exciting prizes!)

3. The money raised will go towards the following:

  •  Assemblies & Field Trips
    • Classroom Expenses
    • Educational Enhancements
    • Playground Equipment
    • The many other opportunities sponsored by the PTO.

What Counts?
• Reading before and after school
• Reading on the bus
• Being read to by other people
• Reading aloud to a pet
• Homework reading counts as long as it is done before or after school
• Reading aloud to other people counts. If you happen to read to someone who is also participating in
the Read-A- Thon, it counts for both of you! Click here for a log to keep track of all of your minutes!

The Read-a-thon is a super fun event and an opportunity to teach our kids about how each of us can make a difference.

***In Lieu of fundraising you may choose to just “write a check” for the student goal of $40 (or any other amount) ***

Spring floral basket fundraiser

Since our Fall mum fundraiser was so successful, we thought we’d try selling some beautiful spring flower hanging baskets.

  • Only 150 baskets will be available for purchase.
  • Baskets are 10” in size. With a variety of colors and flowers.
  • Sales are only available online through the webstore.
  • Cost $30
  • Pick TBD but sometime after 5/9/2022.
  • Orders close on 1/19/22

The Nursery has over 8 different types of flowers and colors to choose from so this will be a first come first serve on the day of pick-up. We are not able to select the colors because it really all depends on how they will grow in the green house over the winter.

Portillo’s Family Knight Out

Family Knight Out is back! Join us on 9/16 from 5-8 p.m. for our first Knight Out at Portillo’s in Batavia. Show this flyer to the cashier in the restaurant or the drive thru and 20% of the proceeds will go back to the PTO!

Please note: online, delivery, and catering orders, as well as the purchase of gift cards, are NOT counted towards this fundraiser.

Fall Mum Fundraiser



Blackberry Creek PTO will be doing a fall mum fundraiser!

These beautiful Hardy Fall Mums are grown in a 7″ x 7″ pot. Standard finishing measurements are 14-16″ wide and 11-13″ tall (not including
the pot measurements!) All of the mums are from a local, family-owned greenhouse and are field grown in natural conditions, leading to a hardy robust plant that will last throughout the fall season when cared for properly. Mums will arrive budded or just starting to crack color. Although we try our best to fill each order as specified, on very rare occasions we may need to substitute a color. The substitute color is usually yellow.

Pick up will be Wednesday, September 15th from 3:30-5:30pm at the school.

Blackberry Bolt

Please join us virtually this year for our 4th annual BlackBerry Bolt 5k. Complete the race on your own time during May 1st to May 7th. Pick your own route and complete during a time that works for you! Again we thank all the families, teachers and members of the community during this difficult time as we try to create some sense of normalcy and fun for the kids to enjoy. This fundraiser will help continue to enhance the current school curriculum and support the needs of our students and teachers!

A Basket a day to count down to spring break!

Join Us for a virtual grade basket raffle during the month of March!

What are Grade Baskets?

Each grade has a theme for gift baskets and collected donated items to fit into their theme to be raffled off. Our families, students and PTO have put a lot of hard work into making these baskets. ( Some baskets may contain perishables or time sensitive items.)  Tickets are 1 for $1/ 6 for $5 and 11 for $10 and can be purchased online here.

How does the raffle work?

On March 8th all raffle tickets will be placed into a bin. Raffle ticket holders will not be able to pick which basket their raffle tickets have a chance of winning, it will be completely random. One basket per day will be raffled off. The winning raffle ticket drawn that day will be streamed live on the PTO facebook page and also announced on the PTO facebook page as well. The winner will be contacted. That winning raffle ticket wins the basket that was assigned to that date (the winner will not choose which basket they want.) That winning raffle ticket will be removed from the bin of raffle tickets, and cannot win again. BUT if you have multiple tickets you can win multiple times! So be sure to buy multiple tickets to increase your chances of winning! There are 15 baskets being raffled off, so 15 chances to win. Winners will be responsible for obtaining winning basket from Tricia Klein.
